Callaway unveils Steelhead XR hybrids
New hybrid for game improvers takes inspiration from Apex
Callaway has unveiled its Steelhead XR hybrid, designed to help the game improver thanks to an “unparalleled combination of distance, forgiveness, and playability”.
Q&A: CALLAWAY STEELHEAD XR HYBRID
The Steelhead XR hybrid takes inspiration from the Apex hybrid, which became more popular with regular golfers more than Callaway thought it would, as it was designed for better players.
A larger clubface energised from Callaway’s next-generation Hyper Speed Face Cup technology promotes faster ball speed, especially on off-centre hits.
This makes Steelhead XR Hybrids easier to launch high for more carry and distance.
Designed with the assistance of aerospace experts, Callaway’s Speed Step Technology improves airflow to promote faster clubhead speed for more distance.
Designers maximised forgiveness of the head by creating a slightly deeper body and longer blade length to create a larger hitting area and raise the MOI, making the Steelhead XR Hybrids easy to hit from a wide variety of lies both on and off the fairway.
