Sam Burns WITB 2023 (March): See the all the Callaway equipment the 26-year-old used to claim his fifth PGA Tour victory at the WGC Match Play.
Sam Burns captured his fifth career win at the WGC Match Play.
Burns, 26, was drawn alongside Seamus Power, Adam Scott and Adam Hadwin in Group 13 at Austin Country Club.
He defeated Hadwin 3&2 in his opening match, beat Scott 1UP in his second match and then made it 3-0-0 with a 2UP victory over Power.
He then beat Patrick Cantlay 2&1 in the Round of 16, before taking care of Mackenzie Hughes 3&2 in the quarterfinal.
Burns needed extra holes to defeat his good buddy Scottie Scheffler in the semi-final before destroying Cameron Young 6&5 in the final.
It was an emotional win and he hugged his wife Caroline Campbell in the immediate aftermath of his fifth victory.
It was the biggest payday of his career.
Burns revealed one of the biggest confidence boosters coming into the event was switching driver.
He told the media:
