Woods moves to Super Stroke putter grip ahead of Presidents Cup

Tiger switches PING for Super Stroke

Ever since I can remember watching Tiger Woods, he has used a PING putter grip, writes GolfCentralDaily.com's Donal Hughes.

Yes, a “PING” putter grip. He has used it on his Scotty Cameron’s and his Nikes.

However yesterday at the Presidents Cup, Woods had the Super Stroke grip fitted to his putter.

Pioneered largely on Tour by KJ Choi, the Super Stroke grip has become ultra popular this year, with both Jim Furyk and Jason Dufner having used them to duel on the greens at the PGA Championship.

Thicker than normal, the theory behind the Super Stroke grip is to take the hands and wrists out of the putting stroke and to instead use the big pendulum motion of the shoulders to create the stroke.

It remains to be seen whether Woods retains the grip during the matches...
