Lee Westwood leads Scottish Open after making TWO EAGLES

Lee Westwood made two eagles on day one of the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club en route to a stunning first-round 62.
Westwood, 47, nearly made an albatross from 300 yards at the par-5 3rd as his ball skirted past the hole, but it left a simple three-footer for eagle that he duly converted.

The Englshman then added a birdie at the par-4 5th before rolling in another eagle at the par-5 7th en route to going out in 31 strokes.

Westwood then made three consecutive birdies from the 12th and then added another at the par-5 16th to move to 9-under par for the round.
Westwood currently ranks eighth in the all-time European Tour standings for most wins on 25.
Sweden's Alex Bjork lies in second place just one stroke behind Westwood on 8-under par.

England's Ian Poulter took a brief rest from Instagram and got off to a solid start to the tournament on 4-under par.
More than 50 players broke par on a low first day of scoring due to the calm afternoon conditions, but the weather is expected to get much trickier as the week progresses.
