Westwood qualifies for Players Championship - through NOT playing!

Lee Westwood booked his spot at the Players Championship - by NOT playing.

Through taking a week’s rest, the Englishman rose from 53rd in the world rankings to 50th, getting him into the PGA Tour’s flagship event at TPC Sawgrass.

Two of the players he jumped - Hideto Tanihara and Russell Henley - both competed in the Zurich Classic, but the tournament did not count towards ranking points.
