C. Smith +3 (12), Day +3 (9)
It's been a tough start to the first round for Australian duo Cam Smith and Jason Day.
Both players have fallen to 3-over par.

It's been a tough start to the first round for Australian duo Cam Smith and Jason Day.
Both players have fallen to 3-over par.
McKibbin -1, Hojgaard -1 (12)
McKibbin and Hojgaard are following each other shot for shot at the moment as they've both just birdied the par-5 12th to move back into the red.
Third member of their group Harrington is not having such a great day at 3-over for the round.
McKibbin Par, Hojgaard Par (11)
And just like that, Royal Portrush bares its teeth for the leaders.
Both McKibbin and Hojgaard make double bogey sixes at the par-4 11th to fall out of the lead and into the pack at level par.
Mickelson, Westwood and Li now lead at 2-under par.

Mickelson -2 (7)
It's a second birdie of the round for Mickelson on the par-5 7th and Lefty moves into a tie for the lead on 2-under alongside Hojgaard, McKibbin and Olesen.
Lee Westwood's knowledge of past Open champions is impressive to say the least.
Reckon you could do this?!

Greyserman +6 (6)
Greyserman begins with four straight bogeys before adding a double on the 5th.
He's thankfully just made his first par of the day at the par-3 6th.
Horror start for the American.
Westwood -1, Gotterup -1 (2)
It's birdies for both Westwood and last week's Scottish Open champion Gotterup on the par-5 2nd.
Both players move to 1-under.
One back.
McKibbin -2 (9)
Northern Ireland's very own McKibbin rolls in a nine footer for birdie on the par-4 9th to join his playing partner Hojgaard in a tie for the lead on 2-under par.
What a moment for the LIV Golf man, who was once mentored by Rory McIlroy.

D. Johnson -1 (2)
We might not have heard much from him for some time, at least on the major stage, but former World No.1 Dustin Johnson is off to a nice start here.
The LIV Golf star makes birdie on the par-5 2nd to join a logjam group on 1-under par.
The 2nd and 7th really are two huge birdie chances though on the front nine.
Johnson was the last man on the practice range when GolfMagic left the media centre late last night, so perhaps DJ is giving it everything this week.
Let's see...
McKibbin -1 (7)
Home favourite McKibbin provides some of the biggest cheers of the morning wave with an eagle on the par-5 7th.
McKibbin split the fairway and then sent a brilliant second shot in to 17 feet before converting the putt.
The Northern Irishman moves straight into the red at 1-under and just one back of his playing partner Hojgaard.
Mickelson -1 (3)
It's a hole out from short game wizard Mickelson on the 3rd, but it's for par.
Still, what a shot from the sand.
Mickelson remains in the red.

A short game masterclass.

N. Hojgaard -2 (7)
Denmark's Hojgaard has become the first player to move it to 2-under par in the first round.
Hojgaard is looking to earn a second straight appearance in the European Ryder Cup team this September.
He's going the right way about it too with birdies on both the par-5s on the front nine.
Hojgaard leads at 2-under par.
Choi +6 (6)
It's not been a good morning for 55-year-old KJ Choi, who became eligble for The Open having won last year's Senior Open.
Choi has just trebled the par-3 6th to fall to the bottom of the board at 6-over par.

C. Smith +2 (4)
Cam Smith sent a message of defiance at the start of the week, but it's not been a good start for the 150th Open champion with bogeys at the 1st and 4th.
The LIV Golf man looks to already face an uphill climb at 2-over par.
Herbert -1 (1)
LIV Golf's Herbert joins the lead at 1-under with a birdie on the par-4 1st.
Mickelson -1 (2)
Golf legend Mickelson, playing in his 31st Open, makes birdie on the par-5 2nd to move into a tie for the early lead on 1-under par.
Six-time major champion Mickelson won The Open at Muirfield in 2013.
Pendrith +3 (2)
It's a shocker of a start for Taylor Pendrith, who has just started with a double on the 1st and a bogey on the par-5 2nd.
Pendrith struck his opening tee shot OB, which is exactly what McIlroy did in 2019.
Uphill battle for the Canadian, who looks on from the bottom of the board.
Nicolai Hojgaard | -1 | 5 |
Jacob Skov Olesen | -1 | 2 |
Marco Penge | Par | 3 |
Phil Mickelson | Par | 1 |
Niklas Norgaard | Par | 1 |
Haotong Li | Par | 1 |
Dustin Johnson | Par | 1 |
Penge Par (2)
After a bogey at 1, England's Penge responds well with a birdie at the par-5 2nd.
Penge, who finished T2 with McIlroy at the Scottish Open last week, is now back to level par in T3.
Only two players are in the red in the early wave of groups with Danish duo Hojgaard and Olesen out in front at 1-under par.
Harrington +1 (4)
It's back to back bogeys for Ireland's Harrington on the 4th.
He slips over par.
