The Open Championship prize money 2025: Check out how Scottie Scheffler won at the final men's major of the year at Royal Portrush.
Scottie Scheffler underlined his status as the best player since Tiger Woods with a dominant victory at The Open.
Scheffler began the fourth round of the final men's major of the year at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland with a four-shot advantage.
The 29-year-old American ended up winning by four stokes over his former Ryder Cup teammate Harris English.
Scheffler is now a four-time major champion having won a pair of Masters titles and a PGA Championship victory since his breakout 2021 season.
He has also moved one step closer to completing the career grand slam.
Scheffler's victory at The Open also carried a number of perks such an astronomical amount of prize money.
Tournament organisers of the championship confirmed at the beginning of the week the purse would remain unchanged from 2024 at Royal Troon.
That means Scheffler scooped a mega $3.1m from the $17m purse.
