Charlie Woods once again continued to impress with a positive showing at the coveted 47th North & South Junior Amateur Championship this week.

The tournament took place from 30 June to 2 July at Pinehurst No.8 in North Carolina.

Charlie Woods, 16, opened with a pair of 72s on the first two days of play.

That saw him enter the final round at 2-over par in a tie for 15th.

He then went one better on Wednesday when closing with a 1-under 71.

Charlie finished the week at 1-over par in a tie for 12th place.

His father Tiger Woods was watching on.

Davis Wotnosky went on to win the tournament on 10-under par.

Charlie made a birdie bomb on one hole for a fourth birdie in five holes during the final round.

In a heartwarming moment, Charlie, wearing Tiger's Sun Day Red, plucked his ball out of the cup and then pointed over to his father Tiger Woods, who was sat watching on in a golf cart.

"Nice putt," shouted out Tiger.

Watch that brilliant moment here:

Last week Charlie finished a highly respectable sixth out of 122 players at the 41st Nicklaus Junior Championship

The son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods has enjoyed the greatest spell of his junior golf career the past two months.

Charlie won his first AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational at the end of May.

He also last month booked his place at the US Junior Amateur, which takes place later this month.

Charlie, who is ranked 19th in the AJGA standings, represents Benjamin School.

Miles Russell, the No.1 in the AJGA rankings, this week confirmed he's off to Florida State.

That's the same path five-time major champion Brooks Koepka headed.

It remains to be seen which college Charlie will choose to represent.

Charlie's father Tiger attended Stanford University, so that could offer plenty of appeal.

Another potential option for Charlie could be Florida State, but at this stage it's unknown.
