An emotional Cameron Young landed his first PGA Tour title at the 2025 Wyndham Championship.
Young claimed his maiden win at Sedgefield Country Club in dominant fashion, winning by five strokes from Mac Meisnner.
The 28-year-old had finished runner-up a painful seven times in his career before finally breaking through.
He finished on a 72-hole total of 22-under par. "I've been waiting for it for a while," said Young.
"I never really thought I'd be that emotional about it. I wasn't going to let it get away from me today."
Young will undoubtedly have the Ryder Cup on his mind. The American was frustrated he didn't do enough to warrant inclusion in Zach Johnson's team two years ago.
The golfer said he would love the chance to represent his country in September at Bethpage Black.
"That team goal is the golf for many of us," he said.
Young also scooped his fair share of prize money in North Carolina.
The 2025 edition of the Wyndham Championship carried a total purse of $8.2m, meaning Young scooped a whopping $1,476,000.
