Angel Cabrera is riding the crest of a wave on the PGA Tour Champions this season having won back-to-back senior major titles at the Regions Tradition and Senior PGA.

Cabrera, 55, has now also won three of his last five starts on the PGA Tour Champions.

A huge reason for his success, as you might expect, has been wielding a hot new putter.

Its name? Odyssey Jailbird.

Yup, that's right, the Argentine is playing with a brand new Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird No.7 Putter less than two years after he was released from prison.

The Odyssey Jailbird features in our Best Putters guide for this season.

Cabrera served 30 months in various South American prisons for domestic violence offences.

The two-time major champion, nicknamed El Pato (The Duck) because of the way he walks, was found guilty in 2021 of numerous charges that included assault, theft and illegal intimidation against former girlfriends.

He was released in August 2023.

Cabrera was able to return to compete in The Masters at Augusta National last month as a result of his past champion status.

Our Ben Smith thought it was a 'disgrace'.

Cabrera slipped on the Green Jacket in 2009.

That marked his second career major title, coming less than two years after his first at the 2007 U.S. Open.

But back to the top of our story and Cabrera's latest wins and his choice of putter...

Golfweek's Adam Schupak first caught sight of Cabrera using a new Odyssey Jailbird putter over the weekend.

"You can’t make this stuff up!" wrote Schupak, as a number of golf fans chimed in with similar thoughts.

"Oh the irony," tweeted one PGA Tour fan.

"You have to be kidding me?!" wrote one.

Another commented: "OMG stop it."

"This is savage from Angel," wrote one fan.

"Wild stuff, do we reckon he's done this on purpose?" quizzed another golf fan.

Cabrera won his first senior title at the James Hardie Pro-Football Hall of Fame Invitational just before The Masters last month.

He then captured his first senior major two weeks ago with a one-shot victory at the Regions Tradition.

Cabrera then recorded his second career senior major and back to back wins on the circuit with another one-shot victory at the Senior PGA Championship on Sunday.

"To win a major is incredible, so I'm very proud," said Cabrera at the Senior PGA.

"It brings a lot of thoughts into my mind. It was very hard, the stuff I went through, so there's a lot going on in my mind right now.

"It's hard to process."

Cabrera missed the cut at the 2025 Masters.

He will now be looking to make it four wins in his last six starts on the PGA Tour Champions at this week's Principal Charity Classic.
