PGA Championship LIVE: Final Round as it happened; Scottie Scheffler wins third career major title

PGA Championship LIVE: see how the final round played out at the 2025 PGA Championship where Scottie Scheffler captured his third career major title at Quail Hollow Club.

Scottie Scheffler has captured his third major title with a deserved victory at the 2025 PGA Championship.

Scheffler, 28, is now half way to the career grand slam having already won The Masters in 2022 and 2024.

The World No.1 has now won 15 times on the PGA Tour.

He has also won his last two starts.

Scheffler held a commanding three-shot lead over Alex Noren entering the final round in golf's second major of the season at Quail Hollow Club.

His advantage completely evaporated by the time he made the turn as a result of some sloppy mistakes and Rahm charging at him.

But he kept his composure down the closing stretch with clutch birdies on the 10th, 14th and 15th to surge clear once again.

Rahm then fully handed the initiative to Scheffler when making a bogey on the 16th.

The wheels then well and truly came off for Rahm who went on to make doubles at both the 17th and 18th.

Scheffler was able to play the closing feared three-hole Green Mile stretch with a a huge lead.

Despite a bogey on the tough par-4 18th, Scheffler carded a 71 to cruise to a five-shot victory on 11-under par.

LIV Golf superstar Bryson DeChambeau (70) once again continued his impressive form to finish runner-up on 6-under par.

He was joined on that score by Harris English (65) and Davis Riley (72).

Taylor Pendrith (68), Jhonattan Vegas (72) and JT Poston (73) rounded out the top five on 5-under par.

Par for Scheffler, birdie for Noren

Scheffler -10, Noren -7 (7)

Scottie Scheffler retains his lead after making par at the 7th.

He could only lay-up at the par-5 after he pulled his tee shot and he two-putts from 20 feet.

Noren gets his birdie though.

The Swede tried to go for the green in two strokes but found the fairway bunker some 90 yards from the pin.

He zips a wedge to three feet and makes easy work of the putt.

Rahm finds a birdie at long last

J. Rahm -7 (8)

Rahmbo closes to within three shots after a sublime birdie at the drivable par-4 8th.

The Spaniard's tee shot finds the thick rough long of the green but he plays a beautiful flop shot to within five feet and rolls in the birdie putt to close the gap on Scottie Scheffler.

Huge moment.

Fitzpatrick back in this?

Fitzpatrick -6 (10)

It looked as though Matthew Fitzpatrick's race was run after he dropped two shots at the 1st and 2nd.

But he's clawed his way back to 6-under, courtesy of a birdie at the 10th.

21:01
Finau joins the party

Finau -6 (9)

Tony Finau finds his third birdie in a row at the 9th.

He's not out of it by any stretch of the imagination...

20:59
Scheffler is human

Scheffler -10, Noren -6 (5)

Scottie Scheffler is human afterall.

The American's tee shot at the par-3 5th comes up short of the green and, despite pitching to nine feet, cannot save his par.

Noren holds his nerve to save par also.

The gap is four.

20:56
DeChambeau finds a birdie

DeChambeau -6 (9)

Bryson saw a wonderful opportunity go begging at the 8th.

But a 21-foot birdie putt drops at the 9th!

His back nine is going to be fun to watch given he has absolutely nothing to lose.

20:48
Scheffler looking inevitable...

Scheffler -11, Noren -6 (5)

Scottie, again, is wild off the tee and finds the fairway bunker.

His approach misses the green and he hits a poor chip to about 20 feet.

Again, Scheffler saves par in miraculous fashion.

Cue fist pump...

20:46
DeChambeau perplexed

DeChambeau -5 (8)

Bryson zips a wedge to around 12 feet but cannot convert.

Is anyone going to close the gap?

20:38
Noren goes backwards

Scheffler -11, Noren -6 (4)

Scottie Scheffler's tee shot at the par-3 4th settles some 34 feet from the pin.

His birdie attempt lacks a bit of juice and stops five feet short of the hole.

He's up to the task, though, and saves par.

Noren, meanwhile, pays the price for finding the front trap. A three-foot par putt burns the edge.

20:35
Bryson gets one back

DeChambeau -5 (8*)

Bryson DeChambeau holes a birdie putt from seven feet at the 7th to get back to 5-under.

The American has a crack at the drivable par-4 8th and comes up just short of the green.

Another birdie chance though...

20:31
Another par for Rahm

Rahm -6 (5)

Nothing is dropping for Rahm today.

He does well to save par at the 5th, holing a putt from eight feet.

20:25
Scheffler par

Scheffler -11, Noren -7 (3)

Scheffler hits another poor tee shot at the 3rd and finds the sand.

The American hits pearler of an approach and just misses his birdie attempt. Easy par though.

Scheffler catches a lucky break

Scheffler -11, Noren -7 (2)

Four-shot advantage restored....

20:06
Bryson DeChambeau's hopes are fading fast

DeChambeau -4 (5)

Grim stuff for Bryson at the 5th, who takes three putts from 25 feet.

20:01
Fore left!

Scheffler -10, Noren -7 (1)

Problems for the leader on the 2nd hole.

Scheffler sends his tee shot into the trees.

19:53
Bogeys for Scheffler and Noren

Scheffler -10, Noren -7 (1)

Scheffler and Noren both fail to get up and down from sand and bogeys go down on their cards.

The World No.1 remains three shots ahead though at 10-under par.

19:46
Riley, Poston bogeys at 1

Riley, Poston -6 (1)

The 1st takes more prisoners.

Poston and Riley both make bogey to fall back to 6-under.

Both players are going in search of a first major title.
