Japan's Miyu Yamashita has won her first major title at the AIG Women's Open after a solid final-round display at Royal Porthcawl.
Yamashita did what she had to do on Sunday and carded a steady 2-under 70 to prevail by two shots on 11-under par.
England's Charley Hull and Japan's Minami Katsu finished in a tie for second on 9-under par.
Yamashita, 24, not only captured her first major title but also her first victory on the LPGA.
She has, however, won an impressive 13 times on the LPGA of Japan Tour.
The Japanese star was ranked 15th in the Rolex Rankings on the eve of the final major of the season.
She will now break into the top 10 when the rankings update on Monday morning.
Prior to winning the 2025 AIG Women's Open, Yamashita's best result in a major was a T2 at the 2024 Women's PGA.
Yamashita becomes the fourth different Japanese player to win a major over the past two years, joining Mao Saigo, Yuka Saso and Ayaka Furue.
Rio Takeda and A Lim Kim rounded out the top five on 7-under par.
England's Lottie Woad finished 4-under par in a tie for eighth.

Martin Sampedro +2 (8)
Spain's Martin Sampedro looks likely of picking up the Smyth Salver for leading amateur.
Although she's 2-over par thru 8 holes in the final round, she is 2-over par for the tournament and six shots clear of her nearest pursuer in the race for the title.
Tan +5 (F)
Of the early starters, the lowest final round in the books is 2-under par courtesy of Singapore's Shannon Tan.
Tan's respectable round of 70 in tough early morning conditions pushes her up to 5-over par for the tournament and just inside the top 50.
Her position is likely to get better as the day progresses no doubt.
It's tough out there right now, but conditions are expected to improve later in the day, at least according to my weather app.
