LIV Golf leaderboard at The Open: Scores from Royal Portrush
LIV Golf leaderboard at The Open: Check out how all 19 players from the PIF-backed league are getting on at the final men's major of the year at Royal Portrush.
Tyrrell Hatton tops the LIV Golf leaderboard at The Open after 36 holes at the final men's major of the year.
Hatton carded rounds of 68 and 69 to sit on five-under at the halfway stage at Royal Portrush.
The Englishman is one of leader Scottie Scheffler's nearest challengers, but it will take an almighty effort from Hatton if he is to lift the Claret Jug on Sunday.
Hatton's peers Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau were also widely tipped to mount a challenge at golf's oldest major.
But the duo have endured an up-and-down time on the links.
DeChambeau looked as though he was dead and buried after 18 holes after he carded a disastrous opening round of 78.
But the two-time major winner bounced back with an almost herculean effort on Friday to make the cut on the number.
Perhaps the biggest surprises came from Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson, who rolled back the years in Northern Ireland.
Westwood was comfortably sitting on three-under after 36 holes whilst Mickelson thrilled and frustrated his fans in equal measure to make the weekend.
The 153rd Open features 19 LIV Golf players and only 11 made the cut.
Joaquin Niemann, Cameron Smith, Carlos Ortiz, Tom McKibbin, Lucas Herbert, Patrick Reed, Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka made their after 36 holes.
They weren't the only big names to miss the cut.
