The World No.1 is just short and left of the pin at the 18th and he plays a beauty that gives him a great look to move to 8-under and just one back of Johnson.
And it's a great start for Cam Smith with a long, long birdie putt at No. 1.

John Daly moves back to the projected cut of level par with a nice birdie at the first.
The field will be trimmed to 70 players today, with the current projected cut level par.

He needed a miracle here but now he needs that and probably divine intervention to make it through to the weekend.

Unfortunately, Ian Poulter receives boos on the 1st tee box on the second day of The Open Championship.
Poulter has moved over to the controversial Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series and he also appealed his suspension from the Genesis Scottish Open.
