He's one back of Schauffele, who just missed a golden chance for birdie on the par-4 17th.
Matsuyama -11 (11)
It's another birdie for Matsuyama, who moves back into a tie for the lead with Schauffele.
Schauffele is on the 18th hole and has a chance for birdie.
Matsuyama -10 (10)
Matsuyama has just curled home a birdie on the 10th to move into solo second on 10-under par.
He's one back of Schauffele, who just missed a golden chance for birdie on the par-4 17th.
Detry -8 (F)
Thomas Detry pars the tough par-4 18th to match Hideki Matsuyama's low round of the week so far of 8-under 63.
Detry's flawless round consisted of eight birdies at 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 and 14.
He's in the house at 8-under par and has given himself a fighting chance of the gold medal on Sunday.
Detry has incredibly never won an individual title on the DP World Tour or PGA Tour, but he did win the World Cup of Golf alongside Thomas Pieters in 2018.
Perhaps Detry comes alive when he represents his nation. We'll have to wait and see this weekend.
McIlroy -5 (8)
McIlroy's charge has been somewhat derailed with a bogey at the par-3 8th.
The man representing Team Ireland this week is now 5-under par and six back of Schauffele.
Still plenty of time left for McIlroy to get himself in contention for the weekend though.
Rahm -9 (16)
Jon Rahm is absolutely flying.
He's just converted a third straight birdie on the par-3 16th to move to 9-under par in T2 alongside Fleetwood and Matsuyama, who are thru eight holes.
Spain's Rahm is now just two shots back of Schauffele, who made par on 16.
Rahm -8 (15)
Rahm sinks a birdie putt on the water-filled par-4 15th to move it to 8-under par.
The LIV Golf man is right in the mix at just three shots behind playing partner Schauffele.
Scheffler -2 (7)
The World No.1 is in big trouble here.
Scheffler has just hacked it about in the rough on the par-4 7th and it's led to a double-bogey six.
It shoots Scheffler to 2-over par for the round and down to 2-under par, which is currently in T32 and nine shots behind compatriot Schauffele.
Scheffler will need to get himself back under par for the round by the end of the day if he is to have any chance of a first gold medal.
Jaeger -7 (16)
This is turning in to some round from Germany's Stephan Jaeger.
He's just made a sixth birdie of the round on the par-4 16th.
Jaeger also eagled the 3rd.
The German is now 7-under for the round and the same score for the tournament having opened with a level-par 71.
Schauffele -11 (14)
The defending champ plays a beautiful bunker shot on the par-5 14th and then rolls home the birdie putt to move it to 11-under par.
Schauffele is now two shots clear of Matsuyama and Fleetwood, who are both 9-under par thru seven holes.
Scheffler -4 (6)
It's six straight pars to start the second round for Scheffler.
He's still in the hunt for sure, but he's six back of his compatriot Schauffele right now.

McIlroy -6 (5)
McIlroy is on the surge on Friday.
After an eagle at 3, Ireland's McIlroy has popped in a birdie on the par-4 6th to move it to 6-under par for the tournament.
He's just four back in T5.
Fleetwood -8 (6)
Great British hope Tommy Fleetwood is now just two shots off the pace.
After an eagle at 3 and birdie at 4, Fleetwood has just drained another putt for birdie on 6 to move it to 8-under par for the tournament.
Some start from the Englishman.
Schauffele -10 (13), Matsuyama -10 (6)
We've a tie at the top again.
Schauffele makes his second bogey of the round to fall back into a tie for the lead on 10-under par.
That's because Matsuyama has just birdied the par-4 6th to pull level.
McIlroy -5 (3)
Rory McIlroy has just displayed exactly why he's been one of the best in the world for so long.
An imperious long iron on the par-5 hit the flag and nearly dropped for Albatros, but it bounced about three feet to the left, leaving the Northern Irishman with a straightforward eagle putt.
Could that be the catalyst for a McIlroy charge? We certainly hope so.
Matsuyama -9 (4)
A sloppy three-putt from Matsuyama sees him card his first bogey of the tournament.
He's now two shots back from Schauffele after the American's birdie on the 11th hole.
Fleetwood -7 (4)
An incredible approach shot on the 4th from Fleetwood leaves him an inch left for his tap-in birdie.
So close to back-to-back eagles for the Englishman.
Schauffele -11 (11)
We have a new solo leader. Xander Schauffele makes his sixth birdie of the day and now moves one shot clear of Matsuyama at the top of the leaderboard.

Detry -7 (12)
Thomas Detry certainly got out of his cardboard bed on the right side today. He just holed an incredible flop shot from the thick rough well below the 12th green, which marks his seventh birdie of the day.
Everything the Belgian has touched today has turned to gold.
Detry now has 2nd place all to himself, just three shots back from Schauffele and Matsuyama.
Schauffele -10 (10) Matsuyama -10 (3)
When one hits, the other punches straight back.
Schauffele birdies the 10th, and mere seconds later, Matsuyama drops one in on the 3rd hole to join him at double digits under par.
This is some fight we're witnessing.
Fleetwood -6 (3)
That's how you get your round going Tommy!
Everyone's favourite Englishman has taken advantage of the par-5 3rd with a wonderful eagle to move him to 6-under.
Detry -6 (11)
Thomas Detry is in some mood today. The Belgian has just carded his sixth birdie of the day with a long-range effort on the par-3 11th.
He now sits just three back from the leaders in a busy pack at 6-under.
Schauffele -9 (9)
Xander Schauffele has grabbed back a share of the lead with Matsuyama thanks to a birdie on the par-5 9th.
The two-time major champion is having the year of his life, and he looks determined not to relinquish his title of Olympic champion.
Aberg, McIlroy and Scheffler all split the fairway with their tee shots on the 1st.
All three are very much in contention after round one, but they will need to step on the gas early if they want to keep up with Matsuyama.
