US Open 2025 Live: Final round scores, leaderboard updates, tee times and highlights from Oakmont

US Open 2025 Live: Final round leaderboard, scores and updates from golf's third major of the season at famed Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.

JJ Spaun has won his first major title on a rollercoaster final day at the 125th US Open.

The top of the leaderboard changed hands multiple times on a wet and wild Sunday at Oakmont Country Club.

But it was Spaun, 34, who held his nerve down the closing stretch to see out his first major title and second career win on Tour.

Spaun hit one of the shots of his life when sending his tee shot to 20 feet on the short par-4 17th.

He then two-putted from there to take a one-shot lead down the par-4 18th.

Spaun then finished in style on 18 with without question the putt of his life.

He split the fairway, found the heart of the green and then sunk a 50-footer for birdie to bring the house down in the pouring rain.

Spaun celebrated with his caddie and he was then joined at the back of the green by his wife and children.

The American was drawn to tears.

Spaun finished the week at 1-under par, a score many people predicted at the start of the week.

Robert MacIntyre charged late with a brilliant round of 2-under 70 in the testing conditions.

But the Scot had to settle for a solo second on 1-over par, a result that marks his best ever finish at a major.

A number of other players will look back and think what might have been in the final round of the US Open.

None more so than Sam Burns who was shockingly denied free relief from casual water in the fairway on the 15th, which led to a double bogey.

Burns and his playing partner Adam Scott ended up having a final round to forget and they were a combined 17-over par.

Tyrrell Hatton also had every chance to win his first major but the Englishman was left to rue duffing two chip shots in the right rough en route to a costly bogey on the short par-4 17th.

Viktor Hovland ended up finishing in solo third on 2-over par, one shot ahead of Cameron Young and LIV Golf duo Hatton and Carlos Ortiz.

Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm backdoored a top-10 finish.

Spaun pockets a first prize cheque of $4.3m, and he also now gives himself every chance of earning a first appearance in the US Ryder Cup team this September.

McIlroy hits the green at 17

McIlroy finds the green at the short par-4 17th.

With a 3-wood.

Arguably his shot of the week.

18:23
Taylor birdie at 1

Taylor +3 (1)

Scheffler failed to make birdie on 1 but his playing partner Nick Taylor did not.

The Canadian moves to 3-over in a tie for ninth.

18:22
McIlroy three jab

McIlroy +8 (16)

Sloppy three-putt from 30 feet for McIlroy.

He's back to 8-over but 2-under for the round, which is the low round on the course.

18:16
Scheffler par at 1

Scheffler +4 (1)

Scheffler begins with a par at 1.

He two-putts from 45 feet.

Scheffler needs to go low.

You would think mid 60s for any chance.

18:06
Detry to 3 over

Detry +3 (6)

It's a second birdie in three holes for Belgium's Detry.

He's made the first big move of the final round.

Detry to 3-over par.

Probably too far back but good chance of a first top-10 finish at the US Open.

17:56
Two birdies in a row for Rory McIlroy

McIlroy +7 (14)

Rory McIlroy is finding his groove now.

A second birdie in a row arrives at the 14th. A beautiful wedge from 85 yards settles four feet from the hole and he has no issue finding the middle of the cup.

He pipes a drive down the middle of the fairway at the par-4 15th...

17:52
Jason Day starts well

Day +4 (3)

Jason Day picks up an early birdie at the 3rd, rolling in a putt from nine feet.

He's in trouble at the 4th, though, and is staring a bogey in the face.

17:40
First mistake from Rahm

Rahm +7 (7)

Rahm's clean card is ruined at the 7th.

The Spaniard finds the bunker with his approach and can't salvage a four from 14 feet.

17:32
McIlroy tossing clubs again

McIlroy +9 (12)

McIlroy gets one back at the par-4 11th by draining a 28-foot uphill putt.

He can't take advantage of the par-5 12th, though, and watches a seven-footer slide past.

McIlroy didn't seem happy with the chip that provided the birdie chance.

Best club toss ever?

17:24
Two bogeys in a row for Koepka

Koepka +7 (3)

A loose tee shot at the 2nd is punished for Koepka.

And he's in trouble off the tee on the 3rd, finding the Church Pew bunker.

Koepka does well to get back into position, but cannot save his par from 18 feet.

17:12
Fox going solo

Ryan Fox is playing on his own today as Corey Conners was forced to withdraw hours before the final round with a wrist injury.

The Kiwi is enjoying a great day so far, and has picked up his third birdie in seven holes at the 7th.

That moves him to 5-over.

17:04
Schauffele having a good day

Schauffele +5 (4)

Xander Schauffele is not having the US Open he would have hoped for.

The American is enjoying a decent final day, though, and has just picked up his second birdie of the day at the par-5 4th.

16:59
Koepka par

Koepka +5 (1)

Some par from Brooks Koepka at the 1st.

16:56
Tyrrell Hatton arrives

Tyrrell Hatton has arrived at Oakmont.

The Englishman, it has to be said, has a pretty crappy record in the major championships despite his obvious talent.

He'll begin the final round five behind Sam Burns, which is nothing at Oakmont.

16:55
Two bogeys in a row for McIlroy

McIlroy +10 (10)

McIlroy finds fairway at 10 and his approach is all over the pin.

It's long, though, and jumps into the rough.

McIlroy rubs his face. It's been a long week.

He takes three from there.

16:50
Koepka finds the green

Koepka +5 (1*)

Brooks Koepka's golf ball stops short of the trees and he has a shot.

He chops out and his golf ball lands about 40 yards short of the green and then trickles down onto the putting surface.

It's a long two-putt from there, but he'll take that.

16:44
Here comes Brooks Koepka

Former US Open champion Brooks Koepka is too far back now at 5-over par.

His first tee shot leaks right of the fairway.

Trouble.

16:42
McIlroy bogey

McIlroy +9 (9)

Rory McIlroy appears a bit chirpier today.

The Northern Irishman was interviewed by Golf Channel ahead of his final round where he explained that he wanted to end the week on a positive note.

He makes his first mistake of the day at the par-4 9th, paying the price for missing the fairway with his tee shot and having to hack out.

Birdies at the 2nd and 4th move the Kiwi  up the leaderboard.

16:20
McIlroy gets another birdie

McIlroy +8 (7)

Rory McIlroy grabs his second birdie of the day at the par-4 7th.

That moves him into a share of 40th on the leaderboard alongside Patrick Reed.

15:16
Awesome little story from Jack
15:15
Birdie for McIlroy

McIlroy +9 (2)

McIlroy sends a huge drive down the short par-4 2nd and goes on to make a birdie.

Up to 9-over.

14:54
McIlroy par at 1

McIlroy +10 (1)

McIlroy splits the fairway and goes on to make a par at the par-4 1st.

Let's hope he gets round in 4.5 hours otherwise he will be fuming.

14:53
Scott looking to enter the record books

Should Adam Scott, 44, win the US Open he will become the oldest winner since Hale Irwin in 1990.

"If I were to come away with it then it would be a hell of a round of golf and an exclamation point on my career."

Scott will try to win his first major championship in 12 years on Sunday.
