Scott E, Hovland -1 (1*)
Former Masters champion Adam Scott receives a warm reception on the 1st tee.
And he stripes his first drive down the middle of the fairway.
What can Hovland do? Oh my word. It's right of the path straight into the trees...

MacIntyre +1 (12)
Seriously impressive round going today for the Scot.
MacIntyre hasn't dropped a shot yet and he finds his third birdie of the day at the par-5 12th.
Hatton +2 (4)
Tyrrell Hatton finds his first birdie of the day at the 4th after rolling in a putt from 10 feet.
Tyrrell Hatton finds an early birdie and is firmly in the mix at Oakmont.

Now just 5 off the lead and tied for 12th. pic.twitter.com/rsyQ0ohket
Koepka +3, SW Kim +2 (2)
Brooks Koepka finds fairway and green in regulation at the 2nd.
His birdie putt, from 14 feet, is a touch shy. But he tidies up the par.
Kim finds his second par in a row.
There are only four groups waiting to tee off in the third round of the US Open.
Russell Henley and Thriston Lawrence, both at 1-over, are off next.
They are followed by Victor Perez and Ben Griffin.
Adam Scott and Viktor Hovland will follow, followed by JJ Spaun and Sam Burns at 3.24pm local time.
Detry +1 (2)
Thomas Detry sinks a birdie putt from 12 feet at the 2nd to move closer to the leaders.
Koepka +3 (1)
Poor start from the American, who takes three putts from 50 feet at the 1st.
Scheffler +4 (8)
A complete lack of concentration from Scheffler.
He lags a 50 footer up to two feet on the tough par-3 8th.
Then forgets to hole the return.
His par putt lips out on the left side.
Scheffler puts his hand to his head.
Back to 4-over par.
Stevens +1 (4)
Nice early move from Sam Stevens.
The American birdies 3 and 4 to move to 1-over.
Stevens has never won on the PGA Tour.
He is making just his third US Open start.
McIlroy +10 (F)
McIlroy bogeys the par-4 18th to card a lacklsutre 4-over 74.
That's 10-over and he's now outside the top 50.
No doubt he'll shun interviews (again).
Schauffele posts a 71 to lie 7-over.
Leishman +4 (15)
Bogeys at 14 and 15 for Leishman.
He was the low round of the day at 4-under thru 13 but not any more.
That belongs to England's Matt Wallace, who is 3-under for the day thru 13.
Wallace is 3-over for the tournament.
Scheffler +3 (7)
Incredible par save from Scheffler.
He found the bunker down the left flank and was forced to layup on the tough par-4 7th.
Scottie splashed out into the fairway and then fired a beautiful wedge shot beyond the pin and back to four feet right of it.
He sent the par putt home to remain 1-under for the round and 3-over for the tournament.
Scheffler +3 (6)
Scheffler is not done with this yet.
He's just moved to 1-under for the round after curling home a 20-footer for birdie on the par-3 6th.
Six back.
He's lurking...

Rahm +4 (3)
Rahm finds rough off the tee and it leads to a first bogey of the day at the par-4 3rd.
The LIV Golf man is back to 4-over.
Spieth +4 (9)
Spieth is hanging around.
He's just chipped in for birdie at the par-4 9th to go out in 1-under and to 4-over for the tournament.
Spieth won the US Open at Chambers Bay in 2015.
Morikawa +2 (3)
Some start for Collin.
He's 2-under thru 3.
Right in the hunt at 2-over.
McIlroy +9 (14)
McIlroy's short par putt on 14 lips out.
3-over for the round.
9-over for the tournament.
Shocking.
Leishman +2 (12)
Another birdie for Leishman on the par-5 12th as he moves to 4-under for the round and to 2-over for the tournament.
Leishman proving a score is out there.
Rahm +3, Morikawa +3 (2)
Rahm and Morikawa both make early moves with birdies at the short par-4 2nd.
When you nearly drive the green, you gotta pay it off with a birdie! 🐥

Oakmont is brutal.
Cone +1 (6)
Cone on the charge.
He's just stuffed it two feet for another birdie on 5.
The little-known American taps it home to move to 3-under for the round and to 1-over for the tournament.
Scheffler +4, Young +3 (3)
Brilliant wedge shot to a foot for Young on the par-4 3rd.
Kick in birdie to 1-under for the round and to 3-over for the tournament.
Young was one of my outside picks for the US Open at 100/1.
I also tipped Scheffler (11/4) and Burns (66/1).
Scheffler, who is playing alongside Young, two-putted for a par.
MacIntyre +2 (6)
Bob Mac on the move.
The Scot has just buried a 30 footer for birdie on the par-3 6th.
2-under for the round and up to 2-over for the tournament.
Bang in the mix for a first major.
Fox +4 (6)
After a tough double on 3, last week's winner Fox has just made three birdies in a row.
He's up to 4-over alongside Scheffler.
4-3-2!

Leishman +3 (11)
LIV Golf's Leishman has the low round of the day going on the course as it stands.
The Aussie is 3-under for the round.
That's 3-over for the tournament.
By no means out of it.
